A Benefit for the Dry Creek-Lokoya Volunteer Fire Department
Home Winemakers, please see bottom of website for registration for the 2019 Home Winemakers Classic, July 27 at Copia.
Domaine Wine Storage has graciously donated storage for the many fine donated wines we have for the silent auction to be held on Saturday, July 27 at the CIA at Copia, 4:00-6:30.
Please join us for the 36th Home Winemakers Classic! We will be returning to the beautiful CIA at Copia located at 500 First St., in downtown Napa. PLEASE NOTE, after 36 fantastic years, this will be the final Home Winemakers Classic hosted by the Dry Creek-Lokoya Volunteer Fire Department. A new organization, the Mt. Veeder Fire Safe Council (an organization long associated with the fire department) will be the new host of the event. We do not see any changes in the event and expect that home winemakers will continue to pour their wines made from the love of the hearts!

CIA at Copia
This event originated in 1982 by the Dry Creek-Lokoya Volunteer Fire Department as a event to raise money for the Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years It’s has been held at Domain Chandon, Silverado Winery, Monticello Winery Groezinger Estates, St. Suprey, Far Niete, and Charles Krug and now the CIA at Copia.
PLEASE SEE THE NEXT SECTION FOR THE 2018 EVENT PHOTOS.
Each year a professional judging panel is formed to judge the home wines entered for the event. Mary Pisor, our current Chair of the Wine Judging Panel (from Pine Ridge Vineyards), puts together professional winemakers, barrel makers, and enologists from various locations throughout Napa Valley. This is one of the most important part of the Home Winemakers Classic as it gives professional feedback on their wines.
The judging panel does not automatically award a ribbon just because a wine has been entered. Each wine must meet the requirements of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., place wine or no award is given.
